Each award category aims to showcase the remarkable achievements of individuals and companies within our vibrant timber community.

The award winners will be celebrated at the Gala Dinner Event on October X, 2025 at The Barn, where we will not only honour all nominees’ outstanding achievements but also raise the profile of our timber industry, both within our community and across the nation.

Sawmilling & Processing Excellence

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises an individual that has demonstrated excellence within sawmilling and processing operations/environment.

Nomination must demonstrate the following: excellence in their field of work, commitment to HSE & training, what effect the nominee’s performance has had to the work environment/company.

Nominees should be recognised for excellence in their field by peers/supervisors/employers.

Operations – Harvesting & In-Field Chipping Excellence

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises individual excellence in harvesting and in-field chipping operations.

Nomination must demonstrate the following: excellence in their field of work, commitment to HSE & training, what effect the nominee’s performance has had to the work environment/company.

Operations – Silviculture & Plantation Management

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises individual excellence in Silviculture and Plantation Management/Growing Services. This includes, but is not limited to silviculture, tree breeding, growing management services such as site preparation, seedling plantation, chemical and fertiliser applications.

Logistics Excellence – Port Operations, Marshalling, Timber Haulage

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises individual excellence in Timber Logistics, this includes, but is not limited to, port operations, log marshalling and Timber haulage services (logs & chip).

Trainee / Apprentice of the Year Award

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises individual trainee or apprentice’s commitment to excellence, self-development and skill achievement in their field.

Nominee’s may still be participating in studies to complete the qualification, but the award is for persons who are currently studying or not more than 2 years post qualification.

Nominees should be recognised for excellence in their field by peers/supervisors/employers.

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises dedication and service to the Timber industry.

Nomination must demonstrate the following: achieved success in their area of expertise in the timber industry, dedication to innovation, HSE & training and what effect the nominee has had to the industry/company over their career.

Safety Excellence

Award Type: Individual

This award recognises individual safety excellence within the Timber industry, this includes, but not limited to Harvesting, Haulage providers, Sawmilling, Forest Owners & Support Services.

Nomination must demonstrate a high standard and passion for safety and/compliance, safety improvement, innovation or significantly improved safety to their specific work area and effect this improvement has had to work environment/company & safety culture.

This award recognises an individual that is leading the way in environmental change or sustainability within the timber industry.

Award Type: Company

This award recognises company safety excellence within the timber industry. This includes, but not limited to Harvesting, Haulage providers, Sawmilling, Forest Owners & Support Services.

Nomination must demonstrate a high standard of safety and/compliance, safety improvement, innovation or significantly improved audit (FOSP) results/audits applicable to specific work area and effect this improvement has had to work environment/company & safety culture.

Award Type: Company

This award recognises company safety excellence within the timber industry. This includes, but not limited to Harvesting, Haulage providers, Sawmilling, Forest Owners & Support Services.

Nomination must demonstrate a high standard of safety and/compliance, safety improvement, innovation or significantly improved audit (FOSP) results/audits applicable to specific work area and effect this improvement has had to work environment/company & safety culture.

Industry Support Services

Award Type: Company

This award recognises individual excellence in Timber Support Service Operations.

This includes but is not limited to engineering services, fire protection, skills training, mechanical services, drone operations/surveillance, equipment suppliers, skills development organisations.

Nomination must demonstrate the following: excellence in their field of work, how their work supports the timber sector, commitment to HSE & training, what effect the company’s performance has had within the industry
